Peavey Milestone II Bass Guitar Reviews  4 / 5 based on 2 reviewsThis is Peavey's take on a Fender Jazz bass. Thin neck, light body, 2 single coil Jazz Bass-styled pickups. The Milestone is a decent budget bass. I believe it is made in Indonesia.
Found this at my local shop. I needed a budget bass to take with me to school everyday. With gigbag this bass costed about $175.
Thin neck and a lightweight body. You can play this bass for hours effortlessly.
The knobs were simple; volume, volume and a tone knob.
The hardware wasn't great, but it did it's job. The bass always stayed in tune and the bridge was easy to setup.
It isn't the best bass in the world, but I can't complain this is a budget bass. It did it's job. I needed a bass to take with me to school. So the Peavey gave me a solid instrument to learn on and something that I wouldn't stress about if someone walked off with.
Once again Peavey built a rock solid instrument. The finish was a beautiful metallic blue. The neck I don't think was solid wood but it never warped on me. The truss rod adjusted similar to an Ernie Ball Musicman or more specifically the OLP cheaper version.
The styling reminded me of a Modulus. The pickups got a nice burpy Jazz tone. A little lacking in the low.
A great started bass, heck a bass anyone could use. I took this bass to Mexico and through 4 years of schooling. It took a beating, stayed in tune and sounded alright the whole time. Billy rated this unit on 2011-01-15. I bought it for $180 at a local music store. I bought it four years ago (1999). I bought it because I was beginning to play bass and needed something affordable and well made.
I like this bass because it is great for beginner's. It's solid, built sturdy, the maple neck is narrow and slim. Very easy for a beginning bassist. The bridges aren't too high and the pickups are places for your thumb to rest. The body is also very nice. Fit and finish is very good no visible flaws. Pickup mounting screws are not well placed and are crooked. No springs under the pickups.
This bass did me well for a few years, but now on it's fourth year it's starting to fall apart. After dropping it a bit it still worked great, but now it's not so good. The 12th fret buzzes on the D string and some of the wood on the neck has chipped off. Two tuning knobs are now buzzing, maybe 3. It's very loud too. The knobs aren't very solid and it gets really annoying. Other then that its still a great bass after the years. I call it "Old Bessy" now days for keeping in tact this long and not making me sound terrible after being so old.

All in all this bass has been great to me. Its still in tact and i can't complain. It is probably the best begginer P-bass copy for a very affordable price and I'm glad I got it.
